Can anyone inform me why Anime and Manga are the mainstay of everyones art craze. I hope you realise, while it looks nice now.. But once your out of highschool and you think your an artist, all youve got going for you is stupid pointy haired kids sitting around doing nothing.

Do you realise there are kids who are in art classes, drawing from different perspectives, learning.. And even becoming well rounded artists? Do you realise that once your out of your little anime craze, you will have to reinvent your art style, and learn again? The only art your going to get payed for would be by mangas, and animes.. WHICH by the way, is dominated by people who've been drawing in that style for years and years, mastering it, and you will be swallowed? Do you not realise how bad the american anime scene is? No one wants to watch an american artists crap. They are stupid kids who are like, dude.. Its from Japan, thats gotta be cool.

Now anyone who is reading this will be like whats your problem with anime? I don't have a problem with anime thank you.. And infact I have watched many an anime in my life. Im just saying in the real world, when you want a job.. You can't be good at it, you have to dominate it. Your chances of dominating ANYTHING like that is so nil, that its almost not worth it. Of course some will make it, but most anime drawers won't.

Thats why I say you must branch out and try something other than anime from time to time.. Because I've noticed 2 things.

Many of you are bad at it.

Its all unoriginal, and should be stopped.

I mean come on people, I stopped thinking I could draw anime in grade 7. Now I just draw and doodle. I don't care what it looks like, or if I like it. Aslong as it passes my time I'm happy, but when your in class, and you pull out some paper and you draw 'Ichi' or some character you made up.. Why don't you pull out a picture of 'George' you drew last week and see if they don't look similar.
